RL Cabinet of Ministers Regulations No. 138 “Regulations Regarding Industrial Energy Audit” of 12 March 2013 (hereinafter – CM Regulations No. 138) stipulate the procedures for performing industrial energy audit, the main requirements for conformity assessment of energy auditor, and the procedures for implementation of supervision of compliance with these requirements, as well as requirements to be set for legal persons for performing of industrial energy audit, and responsibility of energy auditor.

Energy auditor is an independent conformity assessment body, which is accredited according to requirements of the CM Regulations No. 138 by the Latvian National Accreditation Bureau of LLC “Standardisation, Accreditation and Metrology Centre”.

Accreditation is performed according to requirements of the CM Regulations No. 138, taking into consideration the requirements of the European Parliament and Council Regulation No. 765/2008 (9 July 2008) setting out the requirements for accreditation and market surveillance relating to the marketing of products.
During the process of assessment of industrial energy auditors, LVS EN ISO/IEC 17020:2012 standard, CM Regulations No. 138, as well as other applicable regulatory enactments are applied in the Latvian National accreditation system.
The employee of LATAK, responsible for issues of accreditation of industrial energy auditors, is the Head of the Department for Accreditation of Certification and Inspection Bodies, the Lead Assessor Sandra Jaunzema.
